We are excited to announce the second of our This Mum Is… UK events, taking place at Academic House, Camden on August 22, 3pm – 5.30pm.
We’ll be joined by the hilarious Hurrah for Gin author Katie Kirby, as well as Celebs Go Dating agent, life-coach and author Anna Williamson, as they share their own real-life experiences of being a mum.
There’ll be the chance to meet other like-minded new mums, prizes and goodies, not to mention our pop-up Gin Bar!
So, leave the little one with a loved-one, for some fun mum-time.
Katie Kirby started her Hurrah for Gin blog ‘on a whim one night, probably under the influence of gin after a bad day.’ Since then she has written the hugely popular Hurrah for Gin: A Book for Perfectly Imperfect Parents, The Daily Struggles of Archie Adams (Aged 2 ¼) and is due to release her latest book Reluctant Adult: A Book for the Perpetually Overwhelmed in October this year.
Katie excels in describing precisely the daily ups and downs of being a mum, when you love them so much you think you ‘might die’, to when the thought of playing with them for a moment longer makes you want to ‘stick pins’ in your eyes – not to mention her stick-figure drawings that will have you laughing inappropriately loudly!
Katie believes that although parenting is sometimes a struggle, ‘if you don’t laugh about the challenges you will cry.’
Anna is a busy and sometimes ‘frazzled’ mum, who has written bestselling books, hosted #1 podcasts, is a TV and radio presenter, oh and a life-coach!
She has been refreshingly honest about how she coped with post-natal anxiety and birth trauma, and in her Amazon No. 1 Bestseller – Breaking Mum and Dad: The Insider’s Guide to Parenting Anxiety – Anna seeks to uncover the real thoughts, feelings and behaviours that many of us experience in those first few weeks and months after becoming a parent. She has also written, Breaking Mad: The Insider’s Guide to Conquering Anxiety and How Not to Lose It: Mental Health Sorted.
Watch Anna as she guides the wayward love lives of a whole new batch of famous faces, in the new series of Celebs Go Dating – starting Mon 5 August on E4 – or check out her Breaking Mum and Dad, and Loose Lips podcasts.
